Flying The Flag For Human Rights

08.02.19

This year, we’re delighted to be working with arts organisations and human rights charities across the UK on Fly The Flag. Artist and activist Ai Weiwei has designed a flag as a symbol for universal human rights and from 24 - 30 June, organisations and individuals are invited to Fly The Flag to demonstrate their support.

From the Highlands of Scotland to the coast of Cornwall via cities, towns and villages across the UK, in galleries and theatres, shopping centres and offices, schools and libraries, both physically and online, people will come together to celebrate that human rights are for everyone, every day.

The flag was unveiled on 10 December, the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, by the children of Forest Gate Community School, choreographed by our own Wendy. Watch this short film to find out more about the project from Kate McGrath, lead producer of Fuel.

We are leading on the digital, social and content strategy, responsible for spreading the word about this ambitious project, managing relationships with partners all across the UK. We commissioned the brand identity and website from our friends at Cog Design and are working with the fabulous team at The Cornershop PR on media and press.

The full website and next phase of the project launches on 27th February. To be the first to find out more, sign up at flytheflag.org.uk
