The Cogency were the marketing consultants for Kirklees Year of Music 2023, initiated and delivered by Kirklees Council. Our work has included brand management; design and creation of materials and content; curation and management of the KYOM23 website; e-newsletter and social channels; paid media buying; liaison and relationship building with 100s of programme and community partners and delivering on event-specific marketing campaigns. Kirklees is one of 15 priority places in the North, designated for investment by Arts Council England.
The programme saw hundreds of thousands engage with events, learning activities, health and wellbeing programmes, career development and initiatives to support the local music industry. Over 35,000 attended the summer spectacular HERD, produced by Artichoke and the event won “Event of the Year” at the Yorkshire Post Tourism Awards.
As part of our role, we engaged with and supported 100s of community partners with marketing and social media activity; grew social channels by well over 100% over the course of the year; created a suite of dynamic and engaging content to tell the story of the year and drove strong reach and engagement through paid media spend.
