Event marketing 1999 – 2014
The Barbican is one of Europe’s leading arts centres. The Cogency has a long-standing relationship with the Barbican, having worked with the Contemporary & Classical Music teams, the Barbican Gallery and Theatre department in various capacities since 1999. Most recently The Cogency led the marketing for Contemporary Music Autumn 2014 events, including Sparks, British Sea Power's Sea of Brass project and Tim & Barry's Just Jam, working in-house as the department’s Marketing Executive over this period.
In 2012 The Cogency led on the marketing for the Barbican’s Contemporary Music programme for London 2012 Festival, including the Back2black festival with Gilberto Gil; a residency by Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis and a collaboration between Peter Sellars, Toni Morrison and Rokia Traoré.
The Cogency has worked extensively with the Contemporary Music Team to create and deliver marketing strategies & develop audiences for a range of other music events, festivals and series including: Only Connect, Beyond Nashville, Africa:Roots & Shoots, Blaze and Barbican Jazz.
The Cogency has also worked with the Barbican Gallery and Barbican Theatre teams supporting their work on discrete projects including the Christian Marclay exhibition and Merce Cunnigham.
